Creating a Reputation

Reputation is how people value you.
I read two posts today about Reputation. The first is from Phil Cooke, and the second is from Seth Godin. It’s difficult to manage how people value you. Over the past two or more weeks I’ve been struggling with one client and their value of me as a creative. I’m young, look younger, and can be soft spoken. At the same time, I have standards that I will never allow to be compromised. It seems as though, intentional or not, their actions are bent on forcing me to compromise.
Miss South Carolina, Juanita Bynum, Thomas Weeks, Paula, and Randy White have all compromised at some point. As a result, their reputation has been altered. I challenge myself and you today to create a reputation worth knowing and trusting. I like what Seth Godin said: “be transparent, do good work, answer your legitimate critics in the same forum or through your actions”. Didn’t Jesus preach the same?
We are to worship (value) God in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24); or in unity and reality. I intend to consistently value God in unity with his desire and in reality. As a consequence, my reputation will be one worth knowing and trusting.
How will you create/change your reputation?
